A BILL to amend and reenact section three, article ten-c, chapter eighteen of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuation of West Virginia's membership in the southern regional education compact.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section three, article ten-c, chapter eighteen of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 10C. THE SOUTHERN REGIONAL EDUCATION COMPACT.

§18-10C-3. Membership in compact continued; findings.

After having conducted a performance and fiscal audit preliminary performance review through its joint committee on government operations, pursuant to section nine, article ten, chapter four of this code, the Legislature hereby finds and declares that West Virginia should remain a member of the compact. Accordingly, notwithstanding the provisions of sectionfour, article ten, chapter four of this code, West Virginia shall continue to be a member of this compact until the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-four two thousand.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue West Virginia's membership in the Southern Regional Education Board Compact until July 1, 2000.
